Mateusz and his Wingman

May 4, 2008 The MacDill Airforce Base had their annual show and it was wonderful! Mateusz loved all the planes, the noise and watching the planes doing tricks in the sky. It was a beautiful day and Mateusz was a hit in his uniform that is "just like Daddy's" Bayflight uniform. Tom Cruise has nothing on my little man! :)
Aunt Kristy - do you remember the last time you were at the show?

April"s Happenings

What a great time we had in April! Mateusz got to spend lots of fun time with Mimi and Pops in Marco Island, watched and LOVED seeing the Grand Prix cars race through the streets of St. Pete, and saw Mickey Mouse for the first time (definitely NOT the last). Since the Grand Prix, every time Te hears a car revving he asks "Go see race cars?". Seeing how fast the cars went and being so close made quite an impression on him. Do we have a racer in the making? :) You know Mommy would be very happy to see that happen.

We are going to be away at Nonni's house for Mateusz's 3rd birthday so we decided to surprise him with a trip to Disney World. We had so much fun (other then trying to walk through a zilliion people) and Te was thrilled to see Mickey, Goofy, Pooh, Tigger, Darby, and Peter Pan. He did really well waiting for the rides (better then Mommy and Daddy) and didn't want to let go of Pooh or Trigger when he saw them. I think the funniest part of the day was when he kept blushing and hiding his face during the parade when the Princesses would wave in his direction. I think he has quite a crush on them. His new favorite movie is the Little Mermaid and smiles at Ariel all the time. Very cute!

Hope you like the pics. There are more to come! We miss everyone!
Happy day!

Catching Up

It has been a long time since I sat down and sent photos to everyone. We have been happily busy with friends visiting from Texas, going to the zoo, running at the beach, visiting Mimi and Pops in Marco, having Easter and Easter egg hunts, and lots of other fun stuff. Mateusz is getting bigger and bigger every day (he is almost bigger then I am but still wants us to "hold the baby") so I continue to try and work out so I can lift him. He is putting sentences together well so the ear tubes are definitely working. He won't be swimming any time soon, though, since he HATES having the ear plugs or ear band-it on. Hopfully by the time we go to LBI he will be comfortable with them on so we can ride the waves. His favorite breakfast is a protein waffle with peanut butter or powder sugar (the sugar is thanks to Mimi :), lunch is cheese with fruit, and dinner is Mommy's mashed potatoes and pasta. Of course chocolate is a favorite treat along with yogurt, grapes or strawberries. He still won't eat any meat unless I am successful in hiding it but he always seems to find it and pick through the food until every piece is removed. Too smart for me. Mateusz and I have been busy planting a garden with veggies, flowers, and herbs. He seems to have fun in the dirt and loves having a "job" of watering the plants or smelling the flowers. He often likes to pick the flowers and hand them to me - such a sweet little guy! Of course, in the next second he is riding his tractor or bike through the plants but, whatever, since he is having fun.

Mateusz is definitely Daddy's boy. Everything is "Just like Gaga's boat / trunk / firetruck etc.". Yes, Mateusz, everything is just like that. Of course nothing is just like Mommy's. No worries - I love the hugs and kisses I get when it is just the 2 of us. Mateusz is coming along as a soccer player too. He can dribble the ball and knows to kick it into the goal. Not too bad that I had the 3-4 year old YMCA soccer coach ask me to bring him to the soccer games to try and play. He didn't realize Te wasn't old enough. But - I was a proud Momma. Let's hope it continues and sports become a good part of his life.

Have a great Sunday and enjoy the pictures!

Valentine's Day

We had a wonderful and busy Valentine's Day this year. Mateusz had his ear tubes put in and did brilliantly. He hardly fussed about waiting for his turn even though we were stuck in a waiting room for close to 1 hour. He loved the gown he had to put on and didn't want to give it back - not sure what that is about. :) Once home he was back to his normal, active self and didn't grasp the concept of "light play" that I was suppose to follow. He enjoyed a Valentine lollypop from Mom as soon as his nap was over. Let's hope the tubes allow him to start communicating better! I'm ready for a little conversation.

Here is a picture of the beautiful tulips my boys gave me for Valentine's Day. I think the words in the card were the greatest I ever heard: "To the best wife and Mommy 2 guys (and a dog)could ever ask for. We love you!". Sweet and perfect!

Starting Young

I've got my little soccer star in training. I thought he looked simply outstanding in his new digs. Picture him on the field - the girls are gonna love him! Mateusz and I went to the garage to finish some laundry and he decided to try lifting just like his Daddy. Look at the determination on his face. Don't mess with this little guy! :)

Shave and A Haircut

We have needed to get Mateusz's haircut for a while now and Dad decided to give it a try. Well, here's the outcome. Looks like Te is one step closer to joining the military!

Marco Island

Mateusz and I had a wonderful but short trip to see Aunt Kristy, Mimi, and Pops on Jan 29. Aunt Kristy, Te and I went for a nice walk and ended up at the local park where they had a new water play area. I wish I had my camera because Mateusz loved getting soaked running through the water. He met a new friend and tried several times to get Aunt Kristy wet. We can't wait to get back there to have some more fun! Well, after the fun there we decided to head to the beach and play in the sand. Lo and behold, I looked up and caught a glimps of what I envision Aunt Kristy to look like 100 years from now. I am unable to change or cover the lady's face so sorry to whoever it is, but here she is. This woman went swimming in full gear in the cold water. Definitely Aunt Kristy looking for dolphins in a 100 years!

A Day of Destruction

It was a quiet Saturday morning in St. Petersburg, Florida. The sun failed to show up and a slight haze was hanging over the Waring house. Suddenly, there came a rumble from the very underbelly of the earth. From a distance you could hear the beating of a chest, one could sense the rising of testosterone levels, and a slight chill ran through the Lady of the house. Then came the roar of a saw - Mom grabbed her young ones (one human and one dog) and ran from the house for fear of what was to come. BAM!!! It was over. Mom and child looked up from a huddled position to see a cloud of dust rising from the ground. Dad was standing over top of his tumbled concrete, proud, with his head held a bit higher and his chest protruding a bit further. SUCCESS! DEFEAT! DESTRUCTION! After 8 years of looking at ugly arches in front of the house it took one morning to acquire a pile of rubble.
I am not sure who the man living in this house is anymore. He fixes things, builds shelves, knocks things down. I'm not sure who he is but I sure am glad he lives here!!
I truly think the Devil must be wearing a winter coat today.

Happy day!

Welcome

Welcome to the new Waring family blog. I thought that since life is constantly evolving and moving very fast that this would be a great way of keeping everyone posted (if interested) about what is happening with Mateusz and occasionally his parents. I am very new to this and will do my best to make it interesting and post lots of new pictures. I would love to hear from everyone since this will become a great resource for Mateusz to look back on his life. The first few blogs will highlight what has happened in the past 1 1/2 years and then I will make it more current. I hope this will be a wonderful way of showing off my son and having the family stay close to us while we are all living throughout the country. Life is good! Happy day!
